“Reign of Vengence” isn’t
filled with overwhelming battle
music or ominous tones, as its title would suggest. Instead, it
contains more
of the typical variety found in your standard trailer music
album—powerful,
orchestrated choral songs interspersed with slower selections and
passages. It
maintains the right balance between soft and strong, that balance being
about
30% soft and 70% strong. When we hear trailer music, we want it to wake
us up
and to keep us awake, but we don’t want it to be consistantly
bombarding us
with high levels of musical octane. “Reign of Vengence”
accomplishes this. All of the songs are well-done, but none of
them stand out,
and they generally seem to maintain a similar rhythm and tone.
It’s not one of
the best examples of trailer music out there. But with 74 minutes of
music, it’s
a great value for trailer music fans and it’s quite acceptable. |
