How to Indulge

This page goes step by step on how to fully indulge in a cigar. There is no one specific way to enjoy a cigar but knowing the correct etiquette make will make you look like a pro and appreciate the cigar society even more!

2.You must know how to cut a cigar before smoking it. Please follow the link to learn the importance of cutting a cigar correctly, it really puts cigar cutting into perspective.

3.Here is a video with a handout on how to cut the different types of cigars correctly. Each cigar's different shape necessitates a variety of cutting techniques because each cigar is rolled differently.

4.The final step in cigar indulgence is smoking it correctly. If it is not properly smoked the cigar experience will NOT be enjoyable. Below is a short video clip on how to light and smoke a cigar properly, notice he does not use a cutter but prefers a different method instead!

5. Be sure to keep your cigars fresh by storing them in a humidor. A humidor maintains constant humidity to stay between 68-72%, if it goes much higher potential tobacco beetles start to hatch.

Humidors can come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
The photo on the left is a room humidor to keep hundres of cigars fresh. The photo on the right is a personal humidor, it is designed for the individual to store their personal cigar collection. This humidor is portable.
